Uniform forcing and immune sets in graphs and hypergraphs

چکیده
Zero forcing is an iterative coloring process on a graph that has been widely used in such different areas as the modelling of propagation phenomena networks and study minimum rank problems matrices graphs. This paper deals with zero hypergraphs. (Representing network by hypergraph allows us to account for its community structure more general interactions between subsets nodes.) We consider two natural generalizations hypergraphs graphs (one them already known) and, each one these we look into clutters play significant role process: clutter minimal sets immune sets. A formulation terms neighbourhoods (hence without making reference process) presented, highlighting behaviour distinct rules. Moreover, obtain families case complete provide full characterization uniform clutters, both case.

Uniform Coloured Hypergraphs and Blocking Sets
In this paper some properties of k-chromatic and strong k-chromatic hypergraphs are proved. Conditions for the possible existence of blocking sets in Steiner systems are established. Mathematics Subject Classification: 05C15; 05B05
متن کاملApproximating Maximum Independent Sets in Uniform Hypergraphs
We consider the problem of approximating the independence number and the chromatic number of k-uniform hypergraphs on n vertices. For xed integers k 2, we obtain for both problems that one can achieve in polynomial time approximation ratios of at most O(n=(log 1) n)2). This extends results of Boppana and Halld orsson [5] who showed for the graph case that an approximation ratio of O(n=(logn)) c...
متن کاملRadius-forcing sets in graphs
Let G be a connected graph of order p and let 0 ::f. s ~ V ( G). Then S is a rad(G)-forcing set (or a radius-forcing set of G) if, for each v E V(G), there exists v' E S with dc(v, v') ?: rad(G). The cardinality of a smallest radius-forcing set of G is called the radius-forcing number of G and is denoted by rf(G). A graph G is called a randomly k-forcing graph for a positive integer k if every ...
متن کاملTight Minimum Degree Conditions Forcing Perfect Matchings in Uniform Hypergraphs
Given positive integers k and ` where k/2 ≤ ` ≤ k− 1, we give a minimum `-degree condition that ensures a perfect matching in a kuniform hypergraph. This condition is best possible and improves on work of Pikhurko [12] who gave an asymptotically exact result, and extends work of Rödl, Ruciński and Szemerédi [15] who determined the threshold for ` = k−1. Our approach makes use of the absorbing m...
متن کاملHypergraphs and proper forcing
Given a Polish space X and a countable collection of analytic hypergraphs on X, I consider the σ-ideal generated by Borel anticliques for the hypergraphs in the family. It turns out that many of the quotient posets are proper. I investigate the forcing properties of these posets, certain natural operations on them, and prove some related dichotomies.
